About The Author
Jim Moe
The author, the third oldest of seven children, has devoted much of his life to faith, family, and service. He served as a priest for 14 years and was married for 21 years before his wife passed away in 2007 after a three-year battle with cancer. He also spent 25 years working for Child and Family Services for the State of Montana. For his first seven years, he served as a social worker handling referrals involving child abuse and neglect, and for the following 18 years, he supervised five social workers serving vulnerable children and families.
After retiring, he walked the Camino in 2016, an experience that offered him a meaningful time of reflection and spiritual renewal. Today, he enjoys gardening, cross-country skiing, fishing, and walking his dog. Retirement, however, has not ended his commitment to serving others. He volunteers with Meals on Wheels every Monday and Thursday, delivering meals to people who are unable to leave their homes, and each Tuesday he leads a scripture and communion service for residents at the Montana Mental Health Nursing Home.
His ministry continues through his work with Hospice patients, where he serves both as a volunteer and chaplain. He also preaches once a month at a Presbyterian church and participates in Koinonia yearly retreats and Cum Christo retreats in the Catholic Church. Through decades of ministry, social work, personal loss, and volunteer service, he has developed a deep appreciation for compassion, faith, resilience, and hope—values that continue to shape both his life and his writing.
